DOHA DIARY

Todays post actually feels like a throwback (pun intended). Ya’all already know that I was vacationing with my sissy in Doha, Qatar thru my Instagram and Snapchat. Ever-since I am back from the trip I have been trying to share all the deets of my trip, but it always took a setback for some reason or the other. My mini rant ends right here.

Moving on with my Doha diary, this post is a mix of fashion, sightseeing and food.

My first evening in Doha, Sana and Hani took me to the Souq Waqif – a traditional market well known for traditional garments, handicrafts, souvenirs and spices. It is surrounded by cafes and restaurants offering multiple cuisines and sheesha.

The next afternoon Sana & Hani took me to the Corniche, it is hands-down the most attractive part of Doha. Picture the skyline of Doha across the ocean. Breath-taking!

I couldn’t resist going there once again late in the evening to experience the lit skyline, lovely weather and a hot cuppa of coffee.

The weather is January was so Rad, I convinced myself that it was chilly enough for me to bring out my fall coat style not once but twice.

The first time I wore a coat was when I went to one of the best malls in Doha – Villagio Shopping Mall. As soon as you enter the mall, you feel like you are in Venice 😛 . The most distinctive feature of the mall is the indoor canal, running through the center of the mall. You can take a ride in the gondolas, an iconic symbol of the Italian village culture and stroll through the mall passing the remarkable sights of the mall. Artificial sky, romantic street lamps, cozy chairs put up across the canal add to Italian theme. A combination of high-street and luxury brands attract the crème crowd of Doha to the mall.

One of the days we visited the Pearl Qatar, it is an artificial island consisting of luxury residences, restaurants, marina and luxury brands like Elie Saab, Roberto Cavalli, Hermes to name a few.

One of the days Sana took me to the City Center Mall with her squad – Tracy, Mohini and Hiren. We played a round of bowling, followed by shopping, selfies, lunch and some more selfies. Ha! 

I can’t wait to go back there you guys! I miss it already. Special thanks to Sana, Hani, Tracy, Mohini & Agnes for making my trip unforgettable.

PINK FEVER!

Hello Pretties ♥

I have been obsessing over the color Rose Quartz ever since it has been chosen as the pantone color of the year 2016. The subtle hint of pink is what makes it oh-so-feminine.

Today, I aimed for a girly yet edgy look and decided to incorporate the feminine color with black. The Peplum trend has been popular for the past few seasons and I just cant get over it. The very fact it accentuates my petite frame and it’s a surprisingly versatile style no matter what your body shape- keeping curves in check yet also giving the illusion of them for those lacking them. Win-Win!

I think the key to wearing spring trends is embracing COLOR! Think pastels (pretty pinks, light blue, yellow and more..).

Rose quartz color inspired me to create the look so I went all out and paired my pastel pink peplum with a satchel bag in the same shade.

Keeping up with the girly-yet-edgy theme of my outfit I subtly smoked out my eye shadow and paired it with matte pink lips.

This look is channeling sophisticated, edgy and chic all in one.

EASY BREEZY FALL STYLE

Fall in Mumbai? Seems kind of funny considering Mumbai is sunny most of the year. Surprisingly the temperatures in the city has been dipping recently. The weather compared to summer is cooler and gets quite pleasant in the evenings. Here’s my cheat sheet to dressing for fall in Mumbai.

Being petite doesn’t get in my way of wearing jackets and getting lost in thick fabrics. Still on board the crop trend, I teamed up my KOOVS PU panel zip through jacket with printed pants with side panels from Max. A jacket that you can wear tons of times is a great piece to have in your closet. The pants are more classic but the side panels add the perfect edge. The key is to choose fabrics that are not too thick but keep you warm yet look edgy and chic.

Holiday season is all about bling, so I decided to add bling through my studded black flats.  These shoes lift any outfit instantly. Best of all, they are comfy.

It’s easy to fall into a neutrals-only rut when the temperatures dip. But I decided to add a pop of color to my black & white ensemble through a bright blue cross body bag. There’s no easier way to draw outside the neutral lines than with a statement bag you can wear every day.

I hope this post got you a little more excited for fall. Never let the weather limit your possibilities of dressing up in latest trends.

FALL FASHION WITH SISTIES

Hello Lovelies!! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, but I will be active now and new posts will keep pouring in.

Today’s post is very special as it includes my Sisties Sana and Sufi! Our individual styles are as unique as our personalities, yet what makes us inseparable is our love for fashion, shopping, crazy antics, the list is endless..

This post showcases 3 fall outfits in our individual styles – girly, carefree and sporty. Saud, my ever-so-loving and talented husband captured our unique styles so effortlessly.

I am the girly one in this trio. I take maximum time to get ready, decide an outfit or put on my makeup.

Sana is very sporty and sharp, knows what she wants and the only one I know who can get her winged liner perfect in first attempt.

Sufi is the carefree one and gets ready in a jiffy! She is effortless and I envy her long luscious hair more than Carrie Bradshaw’s shoe game.

BODY LOTIONS / CREAMS : BATH & BODY WORKS + VICTORIA’S SECRET

If you know me, you’ll know that I love body creams , be it body lotion, body butter or creams.

I’m generally not fond of citrus and stronger scents as I’m more of a sweet, warm or fruity kinda gal.

I am a big fan of buying and trying new products. And just like every girl, I cannot seem to have enough! But these are the products I keep going back to only because they truly deliver what they promise. I highly recommend the 6 products I have listed below with my reviews about it! Hope you will find this handy..

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion – This is my all time favorite Bath & Body Works scent. It smells like vanilla, sweet sugar, and sandalwood. The sandalwood comes out more as the lotion dries down on the skin. It is a cozy, warm scent. This could be worn year-round but it seems best for the colder months or a rainy day, or right before going to bed. It’s just so soft, sweet and warm…I love it!

Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon Body Cream – Pink Chiffon fragrance expresses the flirty feminity of feeling pretty in pink. It smells like strawberries and cream with vanilla, very delicate and feminine. It’s one of those things that makes you feel super soft and luxurious when you put it on and it kind of makes you feel like this is the way your skin should be feeling!I I love the formula of the triple moisture line and I am just obsessed with this scent!

Bath & Body Works Paris Amour Body Lotion – Paris Amour is a dreamy blend of French tulips, apple blossoms and sparkling pink champagne, inspired by a romantic stroll through the streets of Paris. This pale pink creamy lotion has a sweet floral scent which mesmerizes you totally. The lotion is light and moisturizing at the same time, can be worn through out the year.

Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction Untamed Hydrating Body Lotion – Pure Seduction is one of the best smelling and most Hydrating lotions for keeping your skin soft and supple. This is a new edition of the Pure Seduction range since Fall 2014. The original version contains Red Plum and Sweet Freesia, while the Untamed version adds Wild Blackberry and Dahlia. It sinks into my skin as soon as I apply it to my arms and legs and it does not feel greasy or oily at all. Pure Seduction is one of the best smelling and most Hydrating lotions for keeping your skin soft and supple.

Victoria’s Secret Total Attraction Hydrating Body Lotion – Total Attraction has a lovely fragrance of lillies and cherry orchids. With nourishing aloe, oat and grapeseed extracts, this fast-absorbing lotion replenishes moisture and leaves skin silky. Smell is true to fragrance. It goes on creamy and absorbs into the skin rather quickly. I love the smell of this lotion. Layering the fragrance makes it last all day into the night.

Victoria’s Secret Total Attraction Body Butter – Nothing beats this body butter! Enriched with conditioning shea and jojoba butters, this long-lasting body butter leaves skin soft and smooth. Super easy to work with and spreads all over. It glides on and softens in seconds. Love the delicate scent of the cherry orchids and lily blossom, which is not too strong, but leaves a light fragrance behind. I love this product. It’s so creamy, thick and moisturizing!

SIBLING LOVE!

Today I’m so excited to share my most exciting post yet.  A sibling bond is extraordinary. All my childhood memories revolve around playing dress up with my sister and troubling my lil brother (smirk).

I have been married for 3 months and miss being around them all the more, hence this nostalgic post.

My husband and a very talented photogrpaher captured all the lovely moments, as I relived my growing up days with my beautiful sister Sana and handsome brother Nabel. I hope you enjoy re-living these special moments with us.

As very famously quoted by Kate Spade “Playing dress up begins at age 5 and never truly ends. The day begins with me and my sister playing dress up and ended up doing what we do best, being crazy and loving it.. haha!!

The major perks of having a sister is that she is your first best friend, you get ot borrow her clothes, make fun of her yet love her the most.

Later half of the day gets even better with Nabel joining in and making the crazy traingle complete.

Three years back my sister got us the best gift ever, the pretty girls Musky, Mercy and the hunk Snowwie. Ever since they are a part of our family, and a fun-filled day is incomplete without these adorable babies.

The day ended with these cuties gatecrashing our party (pun intended) and making sure we give them all the attention.

DENIM ON DENIM

Double denim. I never thought I’d write this, but I think it’s a thing. 

Once stigmatized as the ultimate in uncool, double denim is emerging as the seasons hottest trend.  It’s the trend that’s so wrong, it’s right – and it’s not going anywhere. 

So why not give double denim another chance? 

There was a blue mood all over the spring/summer 2015 runways, from Gucci in Milan, to Burberry Prorsum in London and Veronique Branquinho in Paris.

With so many designers rediscovering the enduring street smarts of denim, the beauty about this trend is you probably already have it in your wardrobe. 

Have you checked your denim stash lately? Chances are, it’s probably in need of an update, especially when there’s a handful of fresh new trends that are influencing your jeans.

I’m betting most of us own at least one pair of jeans, and most likely there is a chambray shirt or a denim jacket lurking at the back of your wardrobe too. So why not wear them both together for a fresh take on some trusty staples?

I paired the ultimate distressed baggy boyfriend jeans from Forever 21 with a very cool light denim crop shirt from Garage. I continued with the blue theme and accessorized it with my tote bag from Charles & Keith and a blue dial Rose Gold watch from Guess (my current obsession) combined with charms from Pandora. Adding finishing touches to my look are tan ballerinas from H&M.

So,  here is my take on creating a fantastic double denim outfit. One that looks chic or stylish and not too overdone.

The trick for getting denim on denim right is all in the pieces you choose. Nobody wants to look like they just stepped straight out of the 80’s or 90’s as an updated feel is a must have for any trend.

PASTEL LOVE!

Monsoon has taken over the city but  I’m still so sprung on spring right now! Spring is all about showering your closet with fun and playful pieces. Try to find something that you know you can wear again. 

I recently got this pastel pink shrug at Papaya. It’s so comfortable, and it looks cute paired with practically anything. This classic pastel shrug is a piece I like to have in my closet because you can wear it a million times over.

Please note I’m 5’2”, and wearing a long shrug can make me look shorter. Thankfully this shrug elongates my legs and suits my petite frame to the “T”.

Keeping up with the pastel theme, I paired it with a floral tank top and denims from Forever 21. 

This look can’t get anymore spring-summery after adding my pastel pink bag from Zara into the mix. ha!.. It’s feminine and flirty but not too girly.

This bag is my new favorite summer staple. I love having neutral accessories like this to make styling my wardrobe super easy and chic.
